The most symbolic decoration at a wedding is the cake. They can be grand, ornate, even unusual, and of course, costly.Two easy things to consider when shopping for a wedding cake: Fondant will always be more than icing, and filling will always be more than plain cake. If the wedding is going to be large you might consider having a smaller wedding cake and adding sheet cakes in the same or complimentary flavors. The sheet cakes can be hidden away and brought out after the initial cake cutting is performed. It’s the same cake, only less expensive. Or consider the new trend of cupcakes. They can be put on beautiful cupcake trees and be amazing, either by themselves, or accompanying a small wedding cake.
